Our father, Joseph P. Tarsitano, earned his angel wings on December 7th, 2022. He passed away peacefully at the age 87 surrounded by his family at West Medical Center. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. Our dad enjoyed making people laugh, family vacations and spreading his years of wisdom. He was born September 29th, 1935 in Cleveland to the late Giuseppe and Philomena Tarsitano.
Joe worked for Muni/Cleveland Public Power as a high-Tension lineman and was lucky enough to retire at the age of 53. Then worked at Builders square and then retired again from Home Depot.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was in the Navy Reserves while attending Collinwood H.S. He was a Eucharistic minister at St. Paschal Baylon Church in Highland Hts and at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Mentor. He was a proud member of the Collinwood Memories (seniors group). He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his loving bride of 63 years, Gail Tarsitano (nee Latham); Joe always said that she was the best thing that ever happened to him; beloved father of Regina Tarsitano, Patricia (Thomas) Lord and Thomas Tarsitano; dearest grandfather of Theresa Spall, Amanda (Steve) Wilson, Ashley Lord, Danielle Tarsitano and the late Annamarie Spall; great grandfather of Siena and Emilia.
The family will receive friends & family from 9:00-10:00 AM Saturday, December 17, 2022 in the gathering area at St. Mary of the Assumption Church 8540 Mentor Avenue, Mentor. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 AM Saturday at the church. Private burial at a later date.
