Robert “Phil” Phillips, age 83 of Kirtland, passed away June 11th, 2021 at UH Geauga Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born May 15th, 1938 in Lemont Furnace, PA to the late Kathryn Phillips.
Phil was the owner of R.P. Coatings Corp. in Cleveland. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a parishioner and an usher at Divine Word Church in Kirtland. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Willoughby and the VFW Post #1500 in Willoughby. He enjoyed golfing, playing softball, stamp collecting, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was also an Eagle Scout.
Phil is the loving husband for 61 years to Joan Phillips (nee Jambor); beloved father of Sharon (Steve) Regovich and Sandy (Joe) Matijevic; dearest grandfather of Chelsey and Corey Regovich, Joey and Mattey Matijevic; son of the late Helen and Andrew Phillips; brother of Karen (Steve-deceased) Scheel and the late Joe, Jim, Andy and Jack Phillips, Eleanor and Patricia Phillips; son in law of the late Steve and Rose Jambor; brother-in-law of Lois Phillips and Robert (Gerri) Jambor; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The Phillips family will receive friends from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 16th, 2021 at Divine Word Catholic Church, 8100 Eagle Rd., Kirtland. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Divine Word. Private burial will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral & Cremation Services.
