Frank Robert Zelazny, age 91 of Chardon, OH passed away at home peacefully in his sleep on May 12th, 2026. He was born October 18th, 1934 in Throop, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Victoria Zelazny.
Frank grew up in Cleveland and graduated from East Technical High School. He served in the Reserve of the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard of Ohio.
Frank worked in electrical assembly and inspection. In his younger days he liked to tinker with electricity, small engines and repairing things around the house. He was always very attached to whatever pet(s) were part of the family. His cat “Angel” is sure to miss his attention and presence. He loved nature and the Spanish language, even though he never learned to speak it. He enjoyed playing pool and taught many younger family members how to play. He was always interested in health and wellness, as well as meditation and natural healing. He also enjoyed listening to music and especially liked the BeeGees, Barbara Streisand and banjo music.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Victoria (nee Modzeleski), his brothers – Joseph (Helen) and Edward (Millicent) and his sisters – Regina Mazer (Chet) and Lillian Pikelis (George) and his nephew George Pikelis.
He is survived by his nieces – Linda (Butch) Moats, Gina (Jack) Turner, and Karen (Harry) Hopes.
And his nephews – David (Katherine) Pikelis and Keith (Pam) Zelazny, as well as many great and great -great nieces and nephews.
Thank you to his caregivers from Reserve Hospice Care during his last days. Special thanks to his great-nephew Kevin and his wife, Cinthia, and great niece Nicole, for taking good care of him increasingly over the last two years.
Donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave. Cleveland, Ohio 44110 or Geauga Humane Society, 15463 Chillicothe Rd., Novelty, OH. 44072.
