Ann Marie Mason “Anne” (nee Cornelius), age 57 of Concord Twp., formerly of Mentor, peacefully passed away October 17th, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. She was born January 24th, 1969 in Cleveland, OH to the late James and Mary Cornelius.
Ann dedicated her career to helping the underserved find recovery from mental illness and addiction. She worked at Signature Health for the past 29 years, 25 years as Chief Operating Officer and the last 4 Years and Chief Innovation Officer. In these roles she selflessly helped tens of thousands of patients, knowing that she will never meet most of them and at the same time she helped build one of the area’s most respected healthcare institutions.
Anne was a friend of Bill W. She was a devoted sponsor and enjoyed helping women through mental health, addiction, and recovery. She loved her family, traveling, and cooking.
Anne was the loving wife and best friend of Robert “Bob” Mason; beloved mother of Taylor (Niklaus Thut – fiancé) Zirzow, Michael (Erica VanNostran – fiancée) Zirzow; dearest sister of James (Stacey) Cornelius; cherished aunt of Jessica “Jess” Cornelius, Hanna Terrasi, and Samantha “Sam” Cornelius; daughter in law of Donna and David Mason.
Family and friends are welcome to Celebrate Anne’s Life from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, October 23rd, 2026 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at a later date.
