William J. Pierce, age 68 of Mentor, passed away October 7, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of the Western Reserve. Bill was born October 26, 1948 in Cleveland to the late Mary and Edward J. Pierce.
He is survived by his children, Jeff (Marlene) Pierce, Nick (Susan) Pierce, Martin (Marini) Pierce, and Melanie (Chris) Handfield; grandchildren, Benjamin, Brian, Samantha, Ava, Vivian, Ginger and Brenden; siblings, Michael Pierce and Kathleen Thornburg; sister in law, Christy Niederkorn; girlfriend, Shirley Hendershot.
He is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Ruth Elizabeth Pierce (nee Hall); 2nd wife, Martha Pierce (nee Phillips).
There will be no services at Bill’s requests.
In lieu of flowers, bill and his family request you cheer on the Cleveland Indians.

I can’t express how Bill made my father feel happy and young.I will always remember Bill for that and how we talked about Cleveland sports. Dad and Bill will surely be singing those songs like college kids. I will miss him and hope the best for family and friends.
