Ellen B. Trumphour-Frang (nee DeYoung), age 92 of Willoughby, passed away April 10th, 2026. She was born December 23rd, 1933 in Ravenna, OH to the late Gerry and Harriet DeYoung.
Ellen was a faithful servant of the Lord’s, given in hospitality, always willing to lend a helping hand, or a listening ear. Most of all, she trusted in the Lord with everything that was within her. There was no wrinkle of worry found upon her face, even after 92 years of living.
Ellen loved feeding everyone — her church family, her friends, as well as her own family. She genuinely enjoyed people, and loved being a “grandma” to the young people. She was a constant source of prayers for all, giver of generous gifts, lots of fellowship and advice, to countless people of all ages.
Throughout the years her home was a welcome haven for anyone who needed a safe harbor — whether for a few hours, a few months, or even for a lifetime. Her life and heart for the Lord touched many of us along the way, and we will all miss her quick and happy smile, and think of her fondly for many, many years to come.
Ellen was the loving wife for 35 years to the late Philip Trumphour; and loving wife to the late Victor Frang; beloved mother of Laura Costello (Dana), and the late David (Tonya) Trumphour; also a beloved mother to Vicki Chester, Scott Hicks, Vanessa Wengren, and the late Gwynn Hicks; cherished grandmother of Jason Shores-deceased, Bethany Shores, Elric, Seth, Zoe, and Ren Trumphour; sister of Robert (Dorothy) DeYoung; aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A memorial meeting will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at The Church in Willoughby, 5563 SOM Center Rd., Willoughby. A love feast will follow the memorial meeting at the church.
