Emil E. Kotnik, was born in Euclid, Ohio on September 21, 1940 to the late Emil & Matilda Kotnik . He passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2021 due to complications with Covid.
Emil is the loving father of Lorraine (Samuel) Broida; beloved grandfather of Gabriel & Joshua Broida; dearest brother of Helen (Thomas Martin-deceased) Teree, Charles (Barb) Kotnik, Lynn (Tom) Vargo and the late Ruth Wallace; uncle and great uncle of many.
Emil graduated from St. Joseph High school in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army from 1958-1964. After leaving the Army he was hired on at TRW in Euclid, Ohio, where he started his engineer career. His love of history lead him to start the 5th Virginia Regiment to re-enact the revolutionary wars over weekends at Hale Farm & Village & Dearborn Michigan for many many years, where he made his own clothes by hand. He later left TRW to move to Bristol, Connecticut to work at New England Air Craft. His love of nature & tranquility brought him to purchase, what was now the home he retired in, in Pike, New Hampshire. He loved tinkering in his over 5 acres with his big boy toys of tractors and trains over the years.
There will be a private memorial at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, where Emil will receive military honors.
