James Matthew Kasberg, age 62 of Concord Twp., formerly of Mentor, passed away September 11th, 2026 at Reserve Care in the comfort of his family. He was born August 21st, 1964 in Cleveland to the late Charles and Mary (nee Hunter) Kasberg.
Jim was proud to dedicate 38 years of leadership to Progressive Insurance where he met his wife Dianne and retired in 2024.
Jim received his bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and his Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. He was proud of his heritage as a member of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. He and Dianne enjoyed being members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Cleveland Museum of Art, as well as season ticket holders to the Cleveland Guardians and Playhouse Square. He volunteered at Holden Arboretum and Destination Cleveland.
Jim embraced traveling and always had a trip planned. At home, he enjoyed gardening and landscaping. He spent many years at his house on Chautauqua Lake creating memories with family and friends. As a lifelong learner, he enjoyed reading, history and architecture. Jim loved spending time with his family and being a grandfather.
Jim was extremely proud of his children and cherished their families. His happiest moments were spent with them at their homes. He appreciated time with Kristen and Scott in Washington, DC relaxing together on their front patio in between exploring countless museums and events around the city. He always looked forward to spending time with Brandon, Claire and Eleanor in Lexington, KY where he completed many home improvement projects and embraced the beauty of horse country.
Jim was the loving husband and best friend of 35 years to Dianne Kasberg (nee Bedogne); beloved father of Kristen (Scott) Harris, and Brandon (Claire) Kasberg; dearest grandfather of Eleanor Kasberg; brother of Steve (Becky), Mike (Lori), Mark (Lisa), Bryan (Vicky), Mary Kay (Bob) Jeffries, Bill (Karen), and Lori (Frank) Ventura; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
The Kasberg family will receive family and friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, September 18th, 2026 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, September 19th, 2026 at Mentor Cemetery.
