JoAnn Touhalisky (nee Osko), age 86 of Eastlake, passed away May 7th, 2023 at Hospice of The Western Reserve surrounded by her family. She was born May 5, 1937 in Lorain, OH to the late John and Virginia Osko.
JoAnn was a loving wife & mother, a former librarian for Cleveland Public Libraries and a cook & chef in the food service industry before retiring.
JoAnn was a graduate of Lorain High School in 1956, and a graduate of Kent State University.
JoAnn loved gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She was an avid volunteer including: Willoughby Welcome Wagon in the 1970’s, Girl Scout Leader for 12 years in the Lake Erie Girl Scout Association, Eastlake Community and Civic activities, St. Justin Martyr – CYO Basketball Coach and Parent Teacher Organization, and St. John Vianney Food Bank and Festival Committee.
JoAnn was the loving wife for 61 years to John Touhalisky; beloved mother of Daneen (Thomas Maughan) Touhalisky and Joseph (Kathy) Touhalisky; beloved grandmother of Alyssa Touhalisky, and Rylee Touhalisky; sister of John “Butch” (Bev) Osko, Jerry (Chris) Osko, Jolinda Osko, Jeffrey Osko and the late Judith Lalonde and Joyce Clark; aunt and friend of many.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 18th, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor. Burial to follow at Mentor Cemetery.
