John J. Cook, age 84, of Willowick, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio passed away on March 28, 2018 at Hospice of the Western Reserve surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 31, 1933 to the late Robert E. and Sarah Cook.

John retired in 1994 from Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company after 37 years of service.

He was a proud U.S. Marine Corps Korean War Veteran. John was a member of the Marine Corps League and the VFW Post 1056. He was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Lake in Euclid where he was a Eucharistic Minister, usher, altar server, member of the Offertory Count Team and Genesis Group. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years.

John is the loving husband for 58 years of Dolores A. Cook (nee Blatnik); dearest father of Kathleen (Joseph) Derenda, Thomas (Judy) Cook, Mary Ellen (Amir) Sadim, Janet (Matthew) Janda, Michael Cook and the late Joseph Edward Cook; beloved grandfather of Maryellen and Patrick Derenda, Brian and Sean Cook, Grace and Sofia Sadim, Mackenzie and Jack Janda, Michael and Joseph Cook, Lacey Cook, David and Rachel Montague; brother of Mary M. Wolf and the late Irene Grasgreen and Robert T. Cook; uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass 10 AM Wednesday, April 4 at Our Lady of the Lake, 19951 Lakeshore Blvd., Euclid. Visitation from 4 to-8 PM Tuesday at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 6330 Center Street, Mentor. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
