Marilyn Mae Shilling (nee Frampton), age 86 of Mentor, passed away April 23rd, 2024 at Ahuja Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born September 15, 1937, in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Paul and Anna May Frampton.

Marilyn was a retired Administrative Assistant and a teacher for 5 years after earning her bachelor’s degree at Kent State University.

Marilyn was the past PTA President of Bellflower Elementary, Mentor High, and Lake County Council. She was a member of Willoughby Hills Friends Church, where she served in the area of children’s programs, Embracing (Mastering) Motherhood, and Griefshare facilitator.

Marilyn loved being with and traveling with her family, attending the many functions of her beloved grandchildren, serving her church family, and encouraging others. Marilyn spread her love of Jesus to everyone she was blessed to be involved with, and she was a beautiful mother, grandmother, and friend to those beyond her immediate family. Marilyn gave of her time, talents, and love unselfishly. Her laugh and smile would light up the room.

Marilyn was the loving wife for 63 years to Gordon Shilling; beloved mother of Barbara (Mark) Blake, David (Michelle) Shilling, and Heather (David) Ross; dearest grandmother of Kathleen Blake, Jacob (Emily) Blake, Taylor, Connor and Cassie Shilling, Alexis (fiancé Zach Stenger) Ross, Zachary and Morgan Ross; sister of the late Barbara Minchin; aunt to her nieces and great-nephews.

The Shilling family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM Friday, May 10th, 2024 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 11th at Willoughby Hills Friends Church, 2846 SOM Center Rd.  Visitation will also be available before the service at the church from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A private burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
