Milan Blecic, age 93 of Euclid, passed away August 9th, 2024 at Euclid General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born June 17th, 1931 in Labin, Istria, Croatia to the late Dinko and Marija Blecic.
Milan worked in the coal mines and served in the army in Croatia. After arriving to America, he continued his Istrian traditions by becoming a longstanding member of Istra Club in Wickliffe. Milan found camaraderie in playing bocce and cards with friends. For over 50 years, he took pride in making homemade wine and tending to his garden. But above all, Milan’s greatest love was for his family.
Milan was the devoted husband of 70 years to his wife, Andjelina Blecic (née Faraguna). Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring companionship. He was a beloved father to Mirjana (Franko-deceased) Zahtila and Damir Blecic; proud grandfather “Nono,” to Melissa (Sean) Morton, Christopher (Sarah) Blecic, and the late Brian Blecic; adored great-grandfather “Popo,” to Mersadie and Skye Morton, Kylie, Brinlee, and Bryce Blecic. He is survived by his sister Ema Diminic and late siblings Marica Tencic, Ana Zahtila, Zora Roffi, and Bepi Blecic; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
The Blecic family will receive family and friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 16th, 2024 at Ss. Robert & Williams Church, 367 East 260th Street, Euclid (Please meet at the church). Burial to follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.
