Ronald A. Mazurik Sr., age 86 of Chardon, formerly of Eastlake, passed away August 25th, 2023 at Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon Twp. surrounded by his family. He was born June 9th, 1937 in Dunbar, PA to the late Anna and Michael Mazurik. Upon moving to Cleveland at the age of 10, he was raised by his mother and stepfather, Jack Soeder.
Mr. Mazurik was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was self-employed and owner of Ron’s Catering. At the end of each workday, he enjoyed sharing doughnuts and snacks with the neighborhood kids.
Ron loved going to the movies where he was known to give his reviews to family and friends and became known as the “movie man”. He also enjoyed going to his children’s softball games and all softball games in the area. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and a proud member and founder of the “breakfast club”. Ron spent his Saturday nights at Annabelle’s Diner enjoying the live music and car shows. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed helping others. Ron will be missed by all who knew him.
Ron Sr. was the loving father of Ron Jr. (Therese) Mazurik, Heather (John – deceased) Bird and Tim Mazurik; beloved grandfather (Papa) of Anna Hogrefe; step great granddad of Molly Lewis; brother of Christine (Steve) Risher; and had two grand dogs Brooks and Marty.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 6:00 PM on Saturday September 9th at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. A private burial at Mentor Cemetery will be held at a later date.
