Timothy Robert Terrill, age 65 of Fairport Harbor, passed away at home January 29th, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 28th, 1954 in Euclid, Ohio to the late Robert and Joan (nee Rutkowski) Terrill of Willoughby, Ohio.
Tim had a lifelong love of cars and owned 27 cars over his life. His favorite was a 2004 Corvette Lemans Commemorative Victory Edition in which he won the East Coast Timing Association’s Land Speed Record in June 2016, having gone 149.95 MPH at the Ohio Mile Championship Speed Trial Class C/GSS. His current fun car is a 2011 Jaguar XKR convertible. He was the prior President of Akron Sports Car Club, lover of motor cross, and drag racing. Enjoyed boating, water and snow skiing.
He graduated from Euclid High School in 1973. He earned his associates at Lakeland Community College, received his BS degree from Lake Erie College and his MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
Tim started his career as an electrician for the family business and became an IT professional after graduate school. He retired from Eaton Corporation in 2014.
Tim is the loving husband of 41 years to Nancy (nee Starke) Terrill; devoted father of James (Rena) Terrill of Mentor, Ohio, Stephanie (Chris) Vandersall of Austin, Texas, formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota; dearest brother of Karen (John “JB”) Buckels, Robert Terrill and the late Kim Pecirep; brother in law of Susan (Mike) Quinn, James (Susan) Starke and Mitch Pecirep; uncle of many; dog owner of Chloe.
The Terrill family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby (which is located on the grounds of McMahon Coyne Vitantonio/Jeff Monreal Funeral Services). Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4 PM Saturday at The Abbey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Timothy Terrill be made to support Kidney Cancer Research at Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute. Checks payable to Cleveland Clinic Foundation, PO Box 931517, Cleveland, OH 44193-1655 or Western Reserve Hospice. Both organizations served Tim well in his time of need.
