Benjamin Douglas Grisard

6/22/2009 - 3/22/2025

Benjamin Douglas Grisard, age 15 of Painesville, passed away March 22nd, 2025. He was born on June 22nd, 2009 at Hillcrest Hospital to Karol and Doug Grisard.

A sophomore at Riverside High School, Ben had just crossed the starting line for building his life. A hard-working thrower for the track team, an enthusiastic tuba and saxophone player for the band, an indelible part of his family, and a friend to nearly everyone he met, Ben was the definition of a teammate.  He loved a good game, a good joke, and some good broccoli.  Ben overflowed with loyalty and wore his heart on his sleeve. It made him magnetic.

Ben was the loving son of Doug and Karol Grisard (nee Dahms); beloved brother of Marty and Amanda Grisard; cherished grandson of Barbara (Raymond-deceased) Grisard, Veronica and James Dahms; dearest nephew of Tracy Schveder, Pam (Nate) Greene, Kris Dahms Gedeon, Jen (Jeff) Ludwig and Jamie (Mark) Pelfrey; cousin to many.

The Grisard family will receive family and friends from 12:00 Noon – 7:00 PM Friday, March 28th, 2025 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at The Field House located at Riverside High School, 585 Riverside Dr., Painesville. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.

There’s not enough words out there to pick one that describes this young man. Ben was the little boy next door who always saw the bright side of any situation. He knew a positive mind meant a positive life. He saw the good in everything and everyone and brought light into every room and conversation. Ben has been a good friend and such a precious presence in the lives of so many people. Ben was the prime example of what a respectable young man, friend, son, brother, student, peer and just a good person in general should be. I hope he’s experiencing the best of heaven because he deserves that and so much more. With the impact you’ve made to so many lives you could never be forgotten, Rest in Heaven penjamin.

  27. Ben was always a freind to everyone, always with a smile on his face. He would always find a way to make someone’s day better like messing around with you at lunch, kicking the back of your boots, taking your hat or just making a silly face, Ben would always have a way. And yes he does love broccoli he would steal everyone’s at lunch and beg for it if he couldn’t, also always getting us moved in class because of his giggling and shenanigans. Ben had a very kind soul and that needs loved forever, we all love you Ben🫶

Ben was such a funny, sweet, and kind person. Whether he cared about what others thought or not he was always unapologetically himself and such an amazing human being. He really had a presence and light to him that is truly unforgettable. May that light continue to live on through the people he loved most and inspire others to live like him. Prayers to the Grisard family, LLB🕊️

This young man had a piece of my heart and I never even met him!! BBBBen as my son Tommy Wagner called him. Was so sweet to Tommy who has Down Syndrome. He talked to Tommy on the phone and texted with Tommy! Tommy talked about him all the time. Ben made Tommy feel included and accepted Tommy for who he was. Thank you to his parents for raising such a wonderful young man!! ❤️
