Charles L. Cope, age 82 of Mentor, Ohio, peacefully passed away January 15th, 2026 at home with his loving wife by his side. He was born November 7th, 1943 in Pine City, PA to the late Lawrence and Pearl (nee McClure) Cope.

Charles and his wife Betty formerly owned and operated Cope’s General Store in Millerstown, PA. He was also a skilled craftsman and all-around Mr. Fix It.

Charles was a former member of the Kirtland Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his great grandson.

Charles was the loving husband and best friend for 60 years to Betty M. Cope (nee Beichner); beloved father of Sharon M. (Brad) Schaeffer; dearest grandfather of Brittni M. (Zach) Jansen, and Devin A. Schaeffer; cherished great grandfather of Onni Jansen; brother of Deloris Blanchard, Julie Marsh, Barbara Bauer, David Cope, Kenneth Cope, and the late Raymond Cope; uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
