Debbie Dumek (née Straubaugh)

2/07/1951 - 8/23/2025

Debbie Dumek (née Straubaugh), age 74, of New Port Richey, Florida, and formerly of Olmsted Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025. She was born on February 7, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Florence Straubaugh.

Debbie retired from Dollar Rental Car in 2020. She found great joy in cruising and traveling with her beloved husband, David Dumek, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. One of their favorite pastimes was visiting Disneyworld together—often going twice a month for many years.

A devout Catholic, Debbie prayed the rosary daily and held her family close in her prayers. She had a deep appreciation for nature, collecting unique rocks and crystals, and enjoyed cooking alongside her husband before her illness.

Debbie will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit. She never spoke ill of anyone and had a gift for making friends wherever she went. She was the cherished wife of David Dumek; loving sister of the late Ernetta Weiss; sister-in-law of Betty Dumek; and dear aunt of Victoria Hartley.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Grace Memorial Funeral Home in Hudson, Florida. Receiving of friends will begin at 12:00 PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debbie’s name to Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

Local Arrangements entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Painesville.
