Richard Joseph Regovich

7/03/1967 - 11/26/2025

Richard Joseph Regovich, age 58, passed away November 26th, 2025 at Hospice of The Western Reserve surrounded by his loving family. He was born in East Cleveland on July 3rd, 1967 to Ann and the late Stephen Regovich.

Rich was elected the 81st Commissioner of Lake County in 2022. He started his political career by serving on city council before becoming mayor of Willowick.

Rich was very passionate about serving the community. He was the founder of Willowick Hearts and Hammers, which was composed of volunteers who assisted homeowners with essential home repairs. He was a plumber by trade who always found time to help others in their time of need.

Rich was the loving husband and high school sweetheart to Lynn Regovich (nee Zito); beloved father of Brian Michael (Natalie) Regovich, Elizabeth Ann (Mason) Regovich and Michael (Lisa) Wallen; grandfather of Mila and Liam Wallen; devoted son of Ann and the late Stephen Regovich; cherished brother of Steve (Sharon) Regovich, Dan (Roni) Regovich, Ed (Erin) Regovich, Tom (Cory) Regovich and the late Michael Regovich; uncle to Chelsey (Steven) Toth, Corey (Mary) Regovich, Whitley (Jeff) Dahl, Ian and Sydney Regovich, Alex Regovich, Troy, Sam, Reese and Max Regovich; nephew, cousin and friend to many.

The Regovich family will receive family and friends from 12 Noon – 7:00 PM Sunday, November 30th, 2025 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 PM Monday, December 1st at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine Street, Willowick. A private burial will be held at a later date at Mentor Cemetery.

  1. Lynn and all of the Regovich’s. Your husband, father, son, brother and brother in law was do dear to me. We had some amazing memories together. Lots of fun in Lakewood haunts together and many great times on the east side Regovich parties. God bless to all of you and I am so blessed this man entered my life and brought so many of you along. Lynn my heart goes out to you as well as your children. You were blessed to have such an amazing man in your life as he was with all of you.
