Richard “Rick” P. Markuz, age 73 of Painesville Twp., passed away August 16th, 2025 at University Hospital in Cleveland, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 16th, 1952 in Cleveland to the late Pauline and Stephen Markuz.
Rick was a retired plater and worked for various manufacturing companies.
Rick was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran (Sergeant E-5), a member of Gunny Hall in Mentor and the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed golfing, but he most loved spending time with his family. He was a devout husband, father and grandfather who never missed his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Rick was the loving husband of 50 years to Karen J. Markuz, (nee Acela); beloved father of Heather (Jay) Snetsinger and Richard II (Nikki) Markuz; dearest grandfather of Jacob, Mackenzie, James, Noah, Ava, Logan and Cora; dearest brother of Stephen Markuz Jr., Gary (Jan) Markuz, Marianne (Bob) Rickel, Michael Markuz, Maria (Jim) Elersich and Paul Markuz; brother in law of Jeannie (Bob) Rudman; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The Markuz family will receive family and friends from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 20th, 2025 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral Home. Burial at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
