Richard Zawacki, age 69 of Madison, passed away December 22nd, 2025 at University Hospital in Cleveland surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 2nd, 1956 in Euclid, OH to the late Wallace and Emily Zawacki.
Rick retired as a Design Engineer after 40 years of service. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and an Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He enjoyed attending concerts, spending time with family and friends, traveling, particularly to warm weather locations to spend time snorkeling, and time at the beach in the sun. He will be remembered fondly by us as Cabana Rick.
Rick was the loving husband for 38 years to wife and best friend Kathleen Zawacki; beloved father of Katelyn (Donald) Kosec, Reed Zawacki and the late Richard Ryan Zawacki; brother of Christine Young, Doug (Karen) Zawacki, Laura (Todd) Lee, Russell (Lori) Zawacki and the late Dale Zawacki; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The Zawacki family will receive family and friends from 2:00 –4:00 PM Sunday, January 4th, 2026 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
