Timothy J. Mainello

4/14/1975 - 7/11/2025

Timothy J. Mainello, age 50 of Concord Twp., passed away on July 11th, 2025. He was born April 14th, 1975 in Painesville, Ohio.

Tim was a devoted son and was admired and respected by all who knew him.

Tim was a teacher and former football coach at Madison High School where he taught AP Statistics, AP Biology and various math classes. He was also a former teacher and head football coach at Notre Dame Cathedral Latin.

Tim was an outstanding teacher. He tutored many students through the years so they could do well on the ACT. He cared about the climate and culture of the school and was an active member of the building leadership team.  He was a member of the MEA negotiating team. Tim, most importantly, truly cared about his students and their success. 

Tim was the loving son of Shirley Mainello and James Mainello; dearest nephew of Diana (Fred) Bird, Paula Kaseman and Beverly (Bob) Merkel; cousin to many.

Tim’s education included St. Gabriel Elementary School, Notre Dame Cathedral Latin High School and John Carroll University where he received both his bachelor’s and master’s degree.

A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a future scholarship fund will be in place to donate too.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Painesville.

    Jim and Shirley,
    We are so saddened to learn of this unbelievable news. Tim was such a light and we appreciated when we would randomly see each other. You have a remarkable son. We are thinking of you both and sending you our sincere sympathies ❤️
