Albin “Al” Mayher, age 77 of Willoughby, formerly of Eastlake, passed away peacefully with his beloved family by his side on February 7, 2022. He was born on April 19, 1944 and enjoyed many beautiful memories in life with his hearty laughter, lots of smiles and a fun-loving spirit.

Al was born in Czechoslovakia, immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio and became a United States citizen. He was a graduate of Eastlake North High School and attended Kent State University and the Cleveland College of Jewish Studies. He served as a minister of The Church of Jesus Christ in Perry, Ohio, for 34 years. He was also employed by the Hobart Corporation for 26 years as a service technician and later joined the team of Howard Hanna realtors in Willoughby with his wife, Nancy. Al has always been an avid reader, especially interested in Hebrew and Native American studies. He loved art, drawing, weightlifting, cheering for his grandchildren at their sporting events, giving his time to others, and appreciating wildlife.

Al is the loving husband of 55 years to Nancy (nee Gibson) Mayher; dearest father of Steven (Lisa) Mayher and Kenneth Mayher; beloved grandfather of Ian, Ariana, and Landen Mayher, whom he cherished; son of the late Andrew and Margaret (nee Pala) Mayher; brother of Darina (Michael) Karwan and Michael (Kathy) Mayher; uncle, cousin and friend of many whom enjoyed his happy, light-hearted approach in life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 20th, at the Patrician Banquet Hall, 33150 Lakeland Blvd. Eastlake, Ohio 44095. Friends and family are invited to gather at 3:00 PM, with services beginning at 4:00 PM followed by light refreshments. Officiating ministers will be Br. Ron Giovannone, Br. Hank Cardillo, and Br. Sam Altamare.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Church of Jesus Christ 2643 South Ridge Road, Painesville, OH 44077.

We gathered ‘round your grave to grieve
Wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing!

Go rest high on the mountain,
Son your work on earth is done
    Go to heaven a- shoutin’
