Betty L. Murphy (nee Wolff)

12/29/1950 - 8/18/2026

Betty L. Murphy (nee Wolff), age 75 of Willowick, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Lake West Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born December 29, 1950, in Cleveland to the late Walter and LaVerne (nee Weidner) Wolff. Betty was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Murphy; loving mother of Sarah (Ante) Vurbic, and Karen Boyce; devoted grandmother of Maria and Nicholas Vurbic, and Michael and Thomas Boyce; sister to Carole (Walter) Elbrecht; sister-in-law of the late Robert (Mary Louise – deceased) Murphy, Patrick (Elaine) Murphy, Thomas (Sue) Murphy, James (Kim) Murphy, Sr. Mary Ann Murphy, the late Madeleine D’Alessandro, Daniel (Lori – deceased) Murphy, John Murphy, and Elizabeth Murphy; aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews; and friend to many.

Betty will always be remembered for the deep love and devotion she had for her family. Her gentle spirit, quiet strength, unwavering faith, and positive outlook carried her family through life’s most difficult moments. She was a steady source of comfort, encouragement, and love, always putting the needs of those she cherished before her own. Throughout her career, Betty held several secretarial positions before retiring from Progressive. While she was proud of her work, the role she treasured most was being a grandmother, a title she wore with immense joy and love. Closely followed by her roles as wife and mother, where she found countless ways to nurture, support, and love her husband and daughters. Her family was truly her greatest accomplishment and the greatest joy of her life, and the love she gave them will remain in their hearts and memories forever.

The family will receive family and friends from 9:30 am – 10:30 am on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Ss. Robert & William Parish, 367 East 260th St., Euclid. A memorial mass will follow at 10:30 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Betty’s name to the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland, 6085 Parkland Blvd., Suite 106, Mayfield Hts., OH 44124 or the charity of your choice. A private burial will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
