Carol A. Hegedus (nee Shimenes), age 84 of Mentor, passed away December 12th, 2023 at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord surrounded by her family. She was born September 16th, 1939 in Cleveland to the late Peter and Anne Shimenes.
Carol was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carol was the loving wife of the late Joseph S. Hegedus; beloved mother of Joseph M. (Robin) Hegedus, Vicki (Thomas) Prokop, Kim (Robert) Hrusovsky, Jeff (Tracy) Hegedus and Stephanie (Wayne) French; dearest grandmother of Ashley (Cory Hedge) Hegedus, Joseph Hegedus, Thomas Prokop, Victor Prokop, Robert (Beth) Hrusovsky, Amanda (Kevin McQuiston) Hrusovsky, Angie (Jon) Miles, Joseph Hegedus, Jessie Hegedus and dear grand dog Captain; great grandmother of Cameron, Connor, Robert, Sarah, Kaydn, Owen Anna, Lily and Drew; cherished sister of Linda (Bill) Elwood; aunt to many nieces and nephews.
All services were private. Burial at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.

Arrangements were entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville.

It was an honor celebrating the Sacraments with Carol, when she was at TriPoint Medical Center. She was a woman of great courage and faith. Now she rests in our Lord’s peace and comfort. Carol and yourselves will be remembered in all my Masses this weekend and weekdays. May our Lord’s love be with you all.
