My grandmother was a wonderful mix of loving, silly, and classy. I’ll miss hearing the joy and affection she held for me and made apparent whenever we’d finish up one of our phone calls or while saying our goodbyes after a visit. She always always made sure that was the note we ended on.

One of my favorite things as a little girl was when my Aunt Carol would come visit. I loved watching her put on her make up in the mornings and she would always take me to the park. During one visit our family went to Knott’s Berry Farm. At some point the two of us separated from the others and she asked me what rides I wanted to go on as we walked around. I lead her to a particular line. We were waiting when she pointed to a rollercoaster called The Corkscrew. She pointed to it and joking said something about how crazy it looked. It turned out that she thought we were in line for a different (pretty mellow) ride. I don’t remember exactly what she said but I know she sucked it up and went on The Corkscrew, two loops and all. I always wished we lived closer. She never showed me anything but love and she’ll always be in my heart.

And I’ll always smile when I think of The Corkscrew. ❤️

  16. My very deepest sympathy to all those that loved Carol. I had been trying to locate her over the years and I just returned to my quest only to find out about her recent passing.
She will always have a very special place in my heart for holding my sister, Teri, and my hands while we said goodbye to our mother and Carol’s high school friend, MaryAnn.
Rest in peace with all the rest of the angels in Heaven.
