Carolin “Judy” Nolan (nee Boswell)

11/11/1941 - 1/14/2024

Carolin “Judy” Nolan (nee Boswell), age 82 of Timberlake, peacefully passed away January 14th, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She was born November 11th, 1941 in East Prairie, Missouri to the late Gladys and Carl Travis Boswell.

Judy was a U.S. Air Force Veteran – 24 June, 1965 – 23 December, 1968 where she met the love of her life “Craig”. She was strong in her faith at Willo-Lake Church of the Nazarene for the past 55 years. She was active at the church and helped at the church nursery and had a way about her that comforted children the moment she held them.

Judy was born to be a great mom and grandmother. She was patient, kind and had the sweetest soul. Her family meant everything to her, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Judy was the loving wife of 55 years to William “Craig” Nolan; beloved mother of Keela Eisler, Shauna (Rick) Grant, Ryan (Achara) Nolan, Judd (Melissa) Nolan and the late Travis Nolan; dearest grandmother of Richard Malishefski, Max and Micah Nolan, Tyanna, Joseph, Nathan, Dakota and Judd Travis Nolan; sister of Connie Foster, Gary (Judy) Boswell, David (Diana) Boswell and the late Phyllis Harris; sister in law of Robert Glenn Nolan; aunt of many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place this summer and will be announced at a later date. A private burial will be held at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home in Painesville.

Very wonderful woman. She made life gentle for all around her selflessness, with never a a unkind word. When souls like Judy are called home, family, friends, in fact the light dims a little in our world. Those she she surrounded herself with know the light in their life is not as bright. Our sorrow is painful. We shall not forget. Let us be thankful of her with thoughts of her touching our life. My deepest sympathy and condolences to her family. I will not forget kindness to her fellow man.

Judy was the kindest woman I may have ever known. She welcomed me into the family clan the moment she saw me–when Rick and I were buying my engagement ring at the mall. She will certainly be missed!

  6. As a friend of Ryan’s in Washington State, I had the privilege of meeting and having lunch with Craig and Judy. Although I only met her once, I am greatful to have met her as she was sweet and tolerant of my off color sense of humor and Sailor language. I am sad I wasn’t able to see her again. When Ryan was away visiting Achara’s family overseas, Craig and Judy would house-sit for Ryan, and I often told Ryan I would be visiting them to tell them grandiose and exaggerated, heroic stories of their son and get tid-bits of young Ryan’s possibly embarrassing childhood stories that I could regale at office luncheons! Alas, my wife was I’ll and I didn’t have the time, and frankly, I didn’t know if Ryan’s dad, a tough old school Cleveland police officer, would be happy with that. I give the most heartfelt condolences to Craig and the family. Judy, thank you for your service and thank you for being wonderful.

I have never met a kinder, sweeter more loving soul. I’m so deeply sorry for her loss not only to her beloved family but to all who knew her. The world was a better place with her in it. She will be an angel to her family along with Travis watching over her family from above. I’m so sorry for her loss to all her children, grandchildren and Mr. Nolan.
