Clifton “Todd” Womack, born November 14, 1956, is lovingly remembered by his family after his disappearance on April 5, 1985. More than four decades later, the love his family holds for him remains deeply woven into our hearts. His life, his presence, and his memory have never been forgotten.
As a young man, Todd was bright, quietly intelligent, and naturally gifted at solving problems. He earned strong grades with ease, often bringing home A’s and B’s without spending much time on homework. He had a special way with animals, who seemed comfortable in his presence, and he carried himself with reserved strength. Todd had a close circle of friends, enjoyed football, served in the Merchant Marines, and later pursued work in sales. Those who knew him remembered his gentleness.
Todd’s absence left a sorrow and an unanswered ache that words can never fully express, yet his memory remained a source of love, connection, and hope for our family. After more than four decades of uncertainty, Todd’s remains were identified on April 16, 2026, in Iowa, bringing long-awaited answers while affirming the love and remembrance that have always surrounded him. We also remember our devoted mother, Peggy Womack, who passed away in 1995. She carried the heartbreak of a missing son for the rest of her life, never giving up her search and never letting go of hope. Our family finds comfort in believing that Todd and our mother are now at peace together, reunited beyond the pain and uncertainty of this world.
Todd is survived by his siblings, Jay (Tina) Womack, Terrance “Terry” Womack, Cheryl “Sherry” Vinson (Womack), and Amber Womack. He was a beloved uncle to Jay, Josh, Michael, Bill, Twana, and their families, and he is remembered by extended family members who will continue to honor both his story and our mother’s enduring love.
A private memorial service celebrating Todd’s life and honoring our mother’s unwavering love will be held later.
