Darrell Lynn Tobin, age 67 of York, PA passed away March 8th, 2023 at Governor’s Village in Mayfield, Ohio with his family by his side. He was born November 9th, 1955 to the late James and Phoebe Tobin.
Darrell started his life long culinary career as a short order cook and later Head chef at The Country Club of York and Head chef at Cleveland’s Acacia country club. He then went on to become the Head chef and owner of the former York Blue Moon. He also was a private chef and owner of Thyme For Reflection.
Darrell was a member and supporter of The York Historical Society. He enjoyed fishing, especially at the Outer Banks. He loved coming to Cleveland to spend time with his grandchildren and he always looked forward to cooking for family and friends.
Darrell is the loving father of Heather (Pete) Foradis; beloved grandfather of Layla, Angeliki and Breeanna Foradis; dearest brother of James J. (Patti) Tobin and the late Frederick Lee Tobin; great nephew of Florence Kriner; uncle of James H. Tobin, Kristina Elkins, Michelle Plaia and Melissa Foriest.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM – Noon on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 to Salem Lutheran Church, 99 York St., Jacobus PA 17407. A Funeral Service will be held at Noon at the church. Burial to follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York, PA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville.
