Elizabeth Fish (nee Harfst), age 59 of Mentor, passed away March 11th, 2025. She was born November 15th, 1965 in Broxburn, West Lothian, Scotland to the late Dr Michael and Mary Harfst.

Elizabeth was a retired Medical Research Scientist. Her education included a BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, England, Associateship of the Royal College of Science, 1986 and a PhD In Molecular Biochemistry from The Cardiothoracic Institute, the Brompton Hospital, University of London Medical School, London, England, 1991

Elizabeth was the loving mother of Alexander John Fish; sister of Stephen Hart and Richard Harfst; Aunt to two nephews, Archie and Jonny Fish; former wife of Dr. Gareth Fish.

All services were private.

Donations can be made in Elizabeth’s name to Lake County Humane Society www.lakehumane.org

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Painesville.

    Alex we have just met over the last few months. I am so sorry and my deep condolences to you and your family and friends at this time. Life gives us diversity in life. I’m sure your Mother loved you dearly and now will be watching over you. I’m so proud of you Alex and thank you for allowing me to get to know you better at the last board meeting. John and you and I had some great conversations and a few laughs. And Alex that is what your Mother would want for you.
    To be happy and stand up to what you believe. And that you you have.I hope to become good friends with you Alex. You are bright ,and loving and I’m so looking forward to getting to know you better.
