George “Buz” J. Burns

George “Buz” J. Burns, age 73 of Mayfield Hts., passed away May 21st, 2026 at Hillcrest Hospital with his family by his side. He was born June 25th, 1952 in Cleveland to the late Woodrow Sr. and Eleanor Burns.

Buz worked at Euclid Chemical Company as an electrical technician, retiring in 2018 after many years of service.

Buz was a proud troop leader and committee member for the Eagle Scouts #293. He enjoyed coin collecting, woodworking, and loved spending time with his family.

Buz was the loving husband of 32 years to Capri A. Burns (nee Tomaselli); beloved father of Samantha (Tyler) Reis; dearest brother of Ann (Steve-deceased) Regovich, Woodrow Jr. (Shirley) Burns and the late Gerry (Walt) Turba; uncle to many nieces and nephews; brother in law of Thomas (Robin) Tomaselli, Mark (Marilyn) Montani, and Raeann (Curt) Hofmeister.

The Burns family will receive family and friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 26th, 2026 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, May 27th, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd., Gates Mills. A private burial will be held at Mentor Cemetery at a later date.

Buz will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
