George Joseph Zivich Sr., age 73 of Mentor, passed away suddenly September 27, 2021. He was born February 9, 1948 in East Cleveland to the late George and Helen Zivich.

George got his MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College and was a proud member of the Zeta Chapter of Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society in Business Administration. He retired from American Greetings and was co-owner of TLC Pet Lodge in Mentor, where he could be found chatting with clients as he was taking care of his plants. He was an avid Ohio State football fan and loved to travel especially cruising.

George is the loving husband for 53 years to Laraine Zivich (nee Harris); beloved father of George Joseph (Margaret) Zivich Jr. and Marjorie (William) Beyer; dearest grandfather of George Joseph Zivich III, Andrew Zivich, Alec Green and Sydney Green; brother of Michael (Joyce) Zivich.

The Zivich family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, October 1, 2021 at McMahon Coyne Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to be dispersed amongst George’s favorite charities.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal of Jeff Monreal Funeral Home.

  1. George Zivich, whom I knew for many years while working together at American Greetings, was always balanced, full of calmness, courage and strength.

    I can only understand my deep heartfelt feeling of loss and pray that George continues to look upon us with his blessings with those from the All-Mighty Lord our God.
