Harry Charles Wanchisn, age 69 of Eastlake, passed away September 1st, 2026 at University Hospital in Cleveland, with his family by his side. He was born June 14th, 1957 in Bedford, OH to the late Charles and Dorothy Wanchisn.
Harry was a retired grocery store manager for Local #880. After retirement, he worked for Swagelok for many years.
Harry was a master tinkerer who enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to fix anything. He enjoyed riding his lawnmower, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Guardians fan, he most loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Harry was a member of the Willoughby Eagles Club, VFW Post 4358, and the American Legion Post 7 in Wickliffe.
Harry was the loving husband and best friend for 48 years to Sally Wanchisn (nee Green); beloved father of Wendy Wanchisn, Amy Wanchisn, and Molly (Chris) Miller; cherished Poppy of Karmen (Zack Schaedel – fiancé) Wanchisn; Lettie and Cole Miller, Sadie, Brandi, and CJ Miller; great grand Poppy of Dwayne and Mayleigh; brother of Jeff (Carolyn) Wanchisn, and Greg Wanchisn; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The Wanchisn family will receive family and friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, September 11th, 2026 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Friday, September 11th, 2026 at the funeral home.
The Wanchisn family is requesting to dress casually in Pittsburgh Steelers or Cleveland Guardians clothing.

Harry was such a dear friend to both of us. Anytime Pat would need a helping hand he would be there, right away. He will be missed.

Harry was a true friend. I always liked sitting with Harry talking football and Nascar and of course trying to solve all the problems in the world! Always got a kick out of when he would talk about his grandkids and kids, such a proud dad and “poppy”. We did a few years of snowmobiling together and had some great talks just sitting in the middle of the trail laughing and carrying on. As a fellow member at American Legion Post 7 I can say you will be missed. North of the pole is just not the same without you. Great times out at the gun club, shooting, or just sitting around the fire laughing about anything and nothing at all! Thank you for a great friendship…RIP Harry
