James C. Carlson Sr.

James C. Carlson Sr., age 76 of Timberlake, peacefully passed away November 3rd, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 21st, 1947 in Cleveland to the late Arthur and Ethel Carlson.

Jim was a manager at Tops Supermarket and retired as an Ohio Liquor Control Agent after 42 years of service.

Jim was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran. He loved working in his woodshop in his garage making most of his own furniture. He was an avid gardener. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved vacationing and spending time with his family.

Jim was the loving husband for 54 years to Sandra Carlson (nee Kostelic); dearest father of James (Joy) Carlson Jr. and Julie (Patrick) Chassie; beloved grandfather of Katrina Carlson, Cody Carlson, Annabel Green, Jace Carlson, Jazmyn Carlson, Kristina Norris, Jessica Smith, Stephen Chassie and Samara Chassie; brother of the late Maryann (Joseph) George and Christine (Ken) Harry.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday, November 12th, 2023 at The Abbey, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby (located on the grounds of McMahon Coyne Vitantonio Funeral Home). A memorial service will be held at 5:30 PM Sunday at The Abbey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
