James J. Earley

1/31/1933 - 4/18/2026

James J. Earley, age 93 of Mentor, passed away April 18th, 2026 at Brookdale Senior Living in Mentor. He was born January 31st, 1933 in Ford City, Pennsylvania.

Jim graduated from Ford City High School and received his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan University. He was a retired accountant from PPG.

Jim was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran where he held the rank of Corporal. He was member of the VFW Post #9295 in Mentor, VFW Post #6519 in Chardon, and the Eagles Club Post #226 in Chardon. He was an avid golfer and Cleveland sports fan who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jim was the loving husband to the late Donna Earley (nee Harland); dearest father of Robert (Tammy) Baker and Vincent (Tina) Baker; grandfather of Allyson (Daniel) Henry, Sarah Baker, Chelsey (Jason D’Agata-fiancé) Baker, and Sophie Durdak; great grandpa of Calla, Rylan, Leighton, Landon, King, Semeria, and Sire.

The family would like to invite family and friends for a memorial service at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at Kirtland Cemetery South, 10444 Chillicothe Rd., Kirtland followed by military honors.

Donations can be made in Jim’s name to the VFW Post #9295, 8682 Mentor Ave., Mentor OH 44060 or the VFW Post 6519, 752 Water St., Chardon OH 44024. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Painesville.
