Jeanette (Talley) Coffee, 69 of Painesville, Ohio passed away peacefully after a prolonged illness surrounded by her family and went home to be with our Heavenly Father on January 2, 2023. Jeanette was born May 20, 1953 to the late Henry Lee and Juanita (Sumler) Talley.
Jeanette resided in Painesville, Ohio for over 40 years. Known affectionately as “Mama Coffee”, she retired from Painesville City Local Schools in 2012 after more than 30 years of service in multiple positions. Jeanette was often called on to use her beautiful voice to minister at church services and funerals.
Jeanette grew up in Warren, Ohio where she accepted Christ at a young age. She and her sisters formed a singing group called the Talley Sisters where they cut a record and performed with such names as The Clark Sisters, James Cleveland and other local talent in The Jubilee Specials. Prior to her illness she enjoyed crocheting, cooking Mexican Cornbread and many other items for her friends and family but her best times were spent with her grandchildren that she adored.
Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Danny Talley, daughter Amber Daniel (Davion), stepchildren, Lee N. (Janet) Coffee Jr. and Tosche Coffee-Stevens; brother Richard Talley Sr.; twin sister Lanette Talley; Katherine (Lionel) Simpson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. She also leaves two godchildren Julie McClain and Joyce Warner and former husband Lee N. Coffee Sr.
