John “Jack” R. Tankovich, age 86 of Mentor on the Lake, passed away June 10th, 2023 at Kirtland Rehabilitation and Care surrounded by his family. He was born March 22nd, 1937 in Stafford, CT to the late John and Helen Tankovich.

He was the retired owner of Diamond Hard Chrome and was in the chrome plating business for over 60 years.

Jack was an Army National Guard Veteran. He was a member of the Polka Hall of Fame in Euclid. He enjoyed family and friends, fishing, golfing, and playing his saxophone.

Jack was the loving husband for 65 years to Mary Lou Tankovich (nee Skufca); dearest father of Jack (Dawn) Tankovich and Jill (Paul) Pennington; beloved grandfather of Kristen (Kelly) Meenan, Kyle (Aubrey – fiancée) Tankovich and Jaclyn Pennington; great grandpa of Eli Meenan.

A private memorial service was held at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in Mentor. Burial was at Mentor Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville.
