Katherine “Kitty” Rose Tomoletz (nee Menkel), age 97 of Mentor, passed away February 5, 2022 at Governor’s Pointe surrounded by her family. She was born July 16, 1924 in Bethel, PA to the late William and Katherine Menkel.

Kitty was a cashier at Pick-N-Pay in Euclid for over 30 years. She was also a seamstress and enjoyed playing the piano. Her greatest accomplishment was her family. She always looked forward to seeing and spending time with her family.

Kitty is the loving wife of the late Ralph Tomoletz; beloved mother of Karen (James) Renko; dearest grandmother of Ralph (Nellie) Renko, Jason (Margy) Renko and Kim (Urban) Cornacchione; great grandmother of Anna, Elise, Kate, Julianne, Urban Jr., Casey and Sammy; sister of the late Julia Fleming and William Menkel.

The Tomoletz/Renko family will receive friends from 3:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, February 10th, 2022 at The Abbey, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby (located on the grounds of McMahon Coyne Vitantonio Funeral Home). Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Bede The Venerable, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Burial at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.

Donations can be made to Governor’s Pointe, 8506 Hendricks Rd., Mentor, OH 44060.

The family would like to thank Governor’s Pointe and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their loving and compassionate care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal of Jeff Monreal Funeral Home.

  1. Thank you so much Jim and Karen for the privilege of knowing your Mother, Mother-in-law. She was such a vivacious, beautiful lady in everyway. You gave her such loving, compassionate care in her years since she became a widow. She was always gracious and kind to all she met. I am so sorry for your loss, but I hope her years of being with you will give you some solace in remembering your lovely times together. Sincerely, Cindy Adams
