Linda Carrabine (nee Schenker), age 77 of Painesville, formerly of Mentor, peacefully passed away October 11th, 2026 at Homestead II in Painesville, OH. She was born October 7th, 1949 in Cleveland, OH to the late Frederick and Ruth Schenker.
Linda found great joy in golfing, attending the theater, and spending time with her family and friends. Linda enjoyed volunteering at St. Gabriel’s Church where she was a member since moving into the community. She was especially known for her delicious Christmas cookies, which she baked each year and personally delivered around town. Her annual Christmas party was a tradition that everyone looked forward to. One of Linda’s favorite things was hosting. Above all, Linda loved taking her grandchildren to Cedar Point, local museums and everything in between.
Linda was the loving wife for 56 years to Richard “Rick” Carrabine; beloved mother of Jennifer (Todd) Raubenolt, and Christine (Chris) Albu; dearest grandmother of Meagan and Cameron Raubenolt, Luke and Lucy Albu; sister of Richard (Carolyn) Schenker, and James Schenker; aunt to many nieces and nephews.
The Carrabine family will receive family and friends from 2:00 – 5:00 PM Saturday, October 17th, 2026 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville.

I am so sad to learn of Linda’s passing. May God hold her soul in His hands and give comfort to her loved ones. Linda is pain free and residing with the Lord.
God Bless her soul.
My name is Luke Albu and I am Linda’s grandson. My grandma lived a great life and loved to spend time with us. My grandma would invite us over once a week on Mondays for dinner and to hang out. Now that she’s gone I will never forget those Monday’s and will carry that on when I have grandkids to show how much this meant to me. My grandma loved the zoo and got me into loving animals too. Whenever I would see my grandma I would always talk about the zoo with her, whether that be a new animal, baby animal, or enclosure. I always wished that I could go to the zoo one last time with her so we could enjoy the animals but to also just be with her one last time.
Thank you for always taking care of me and loving me,
Love you,
Luke Albu
You gave your grandma great joy.

Dear Rick,Jenn and Chrissy and Famil: I was so sorry to read about Linda’s passing. We started our friendship many years ago in Churchville as young parents and still managed to connect many years later on my trips to Cleveland. Linda was always so much fun as well as a good friend. I have known Linda and Rick since the early 1960’s. Linda’s brother Rich has been one of my best friends since that same time. Linda is Family, and we love her and miss her. Her joy was infectious. Wife Carolyn and I were so lucky and blessed to have her visit our Colorado home(s) many times through the years. We love her and miss her.

I will always cherish my memories with Linda. Loved her joy for getting out and about experiencing new and old places. Making many trips to Colorado and to meet our new little family additions. Our rollercoaster adventures and almost squeezing my hand off, so much fun!
Linda’s kindness, laughter and spirit will always be with us.
