Linda L. Schaffer, age 86, of Mentor, Ohio, passed away on October 3, 2026, at University Hospital in Cleveland. She was born on December 7, 1939, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to the late Erwin and Bonnie L. Schaffer.
Linda enjoyed a successful career as an accountant with BP and also Deloitte in Cleveland, where she worked until her retirement. She was a dedicated professional and an active member of several accounting and CPA organizations.
Known for her sense of humor and generosity, Linda brought laughter to those around her and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was especially devoted to her sister, Bonnie Jean, for whom she served as a loving caregiver.
Linda had a special love for animals, especially cats. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, birdwatching, and walking the trails at Lake Metroparks. She also appreciated life’s simple pleasures, including her daily visits to Starbucks for a cup of coffee.
Linda was the beloved sister of Bonnie Jean Schaffer and the late James Thomas (Janis) Schaffer and Charles Erwin “Skeeter” Schaffer. She was a cherished aunt to Danielle (Joe) Juarez, Jeff (Jen) Schaffer, and Tim Schaffer, and a loving great-aunt to Evan Schaffer.
Services were held privately.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home of Painesville, Ohio.
