Mary Lou Gomez (nee Bliss), age 89 of Willoughby, passed away March 18th, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 4th, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Norman and Louise Bliss.

Mary Lou was a retired accountant. She was a volunteer for the Heart Association. She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. She enjoyed crafting which included crocheting, knitting, and making jewelry. She was very bright and witty. She most loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mary Lou is the loving wife of the late John Gomez; dearest mother of Bill Gomez, Cheri (Terry) Kaczuk and the late John “Jack” (Debbie) Gomez and Danny Gomez; beloved grandmother of Jason Kirkland, Amanda (Anas) Almasri, TJ (Lauren) Dowhan, Danni Dowhan, Sean Dowhan, Mason Gomez and Arabella Gercar; sister of the late Norman Bliss, Don Bliss and Rich (June) Bliss; sister in law of June (Ralph-deceased) Dunbar; aunt of many nieces and nephews; and her favorite grandpuppy Chino.

    so very sorry for all the pain you are experiencing. the service was above and beyond anything me and my family have ever been to. everthing was perfect. your mom is looking down and shaking her head that you did so much, but it was very fitting for my moms best friend and great aunt to my family. she was a … i can not even find words to describe how special she was. we are a strong family but this was very hard and you made it unforgettable. we love each and everyone that made a sad day a tribute to the Gomez queen.
