Michelle Danko

9/28/1974 - 9/01/2023

Michelle Danko, age 48 of Stow, passed away peacefully on September 1st, 2023, at Summa Health Hospital in Akron, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 28th, 1974 in Rapid City, South Dakota on Ellsworth Air Force Base where her parents were stationed at the time.

Michelle was a phlebotomist for Quest Diagnostics where she enjoyed taking care of patients.

Michelle was a US Navy veteran who proudly served as a Seaman Spec. Gunners Mate on The USS Simon Lake (AS-33). She always took great pride in her country and helping other veterans. Michelle also loved animals, staying physically fit and working out, and above all else, being with her family.

Michelle is the beloved mother of Daniel “Danny” Nichols; dearest daughter of Dorothy “Dotty” Danko and John (Jody) Danko.

All services were private. Burial was held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

  3. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I was stationed with Michelle on the USS Simon Lake. She was a great lady and an outstanding Sailor. She will be missed by many. 🙏🙏🙏 to you all!

    I am proud to have served with Michelle on the USS Simon Lake AS-33 Deck Department, Italy. I was her mentor for two years. She were a hard worker and did all her tasks with perfection. Michelle was and still well liked by Officers In Charge. She will be missed in sharing those good food recipes or sharing something she seen and bought at Market.
    Michelle you will be Greatly Missed. You stood many impeccable long underway ship’s bridge watches; NOW we relieve you the watch Deck Department now Piping You Over The Side: WE HAVE THE WATCH!! Love you my Friend, Never Forgotten.

    Hello All, I met Michelle on the Simon Lake and yes she was Awesome. I hope you guys as her Family know the joy we all Felt having known your Michelle and I really thank you for that chance and I pray you are feeling Peace at such at hard time.   8. I just found out this morning of Michelle’s “Chel” passing. I am in utter disbelief. Chel and I worked at Bed Bath and Beyond together. She was the nicest ,funniest , and caring person. The world has lost a great person. Prayers for the family at this time. My condolences.
