Neal Bartone Sr., age 88 of Fairport Harbor, formerly of Willowick, peacefully passed away September 9th, 2026 at Reserve Care in Cleveland surrounded by his family. He was born February 3rd, 1938 in Cleveland to the late Neil and Carmella Bartone.
He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and a retired Optician.
Neal was an avid golfer who once had a hole in one. He loved watching sports of all kinds and was also a huge Cleveland sports fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Neal was the loving husband for 62 years to Merle Bartone (nee McMichael); beloved father of Monica (Rick) Murphy, Anita (Dave) Maikut, Neal (Jenn) Bartone Jr., and Steve Bartone; cherished grandfather of Matt (Tanya) Murphy, Richard Maikut, Nicholas (Jamie) Maikut, David (Holly) Phillips, Ryan Bartone, Alyssa Bartone and Neal Bartone III; brother of the late John Bartone, and twin brother of the late Richard “Dick” (Elaine) Bartone; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The Bartone family would like to invite you to celebrate Neal Bartone Sr.’s life at a memorial mass that will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 17th, 2026 at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine Street, Willowick.
