Rick Poe Jr., age 47 of Lagrange, Ohio, formerly of Eastlake, passed away July 16th, 2024 at UH Elyria Medical Center. He was born December 1st, 1976 in Willoughby.

Rick was a 1995 Eastlake North High School graduate and received his bachelor’s degree in 1999 from Baldwin Wallace University. He worked as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Lakewood.

Rick was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeye Fan. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to concerts and listening to live music. He most loved spending time with his family, friends and his dogs.

Rick was the loving husband of 19 years to Janell Poe (nee Mills); dearest son of Karen (Mike) Nista and the late Richard A. Poe Sr.; beloved brother of Brian (Katie) Poe, Jeremy Poe and Jordan (Manoli Papagianis) Poe; cherished uncle of John, Karson, Kallie, Cameron, Connor, Hannah, Cooper and Sunny; son in law of Nancy and Hal Mills; brother in law of Rick (Kim) Mills and Joy (Kevin) Bacho; and loving dog Ruby and the late Vegas.

The Poe family will receive friends and family from 3:00 – 6:30 PM Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

The Poe family is requesting to dress casually in Cleveland Browns or Ohio State Buckeye clothing.

  3. Rick was a very close friend of my son Rocky. We lived next door to him and his family in Eastlake for many years. Rick and Rocky remained close throughout the years,he was a wonderful man who will be truly missed.

    I don’t think anyone could ever say a bad thing about Rick. He was always so approachable, kind, caring, and engaging. He was a great friend to so many and one of the really good guys. Our deepest condolences to Janell and the Poe family. Rick will be missed by all.
