Sean Patrick Michalski, age 55 of Mentor, passed away January 18th, 2023. He was born February 10th, 1967 in Euclid, Ohio.
Sean worked in construction his whole life as a floor installer until his knees, back and neck gave out. He was a hard worker; he took pride in his work and was very meticulous.
Sean had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile. He loved animals and had a special bond with his dog Parker. He enjoyed fishing and drawing. He was an amazing uncle that could connect with his nieces at each of their levels. He loved sports, especially the Browns, Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a good baseball player and played softball for many years.
Sean struggled with addiction and depression. Ups and downs and all arounds, Sean couldn’t seem to kick old habits and when he let his family down time and time again, it would put him into an awful depression. His ex-wife and kids never stopped loving him. They hoped and prayed just as many of his friends in AA did, that he would stop for good, but it just wasn’t meant to be. Sean never stopped being loved.
Sean is the loving father of Madison Michalski and Thomas Michalski; best friend and former husband of Heather Michalski (nee Gliha); beloved uncle of Sidney, Avery and Hadley Veeder and Lennon Anderson; brother in law of Holly (Jason) Veeder and Kelly (Seth) Gliha; parents in law of Karen and Thomas Gliha; beloved dog Parker Michalski; and many extended Michalski and McCoy family.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, January 23rd, 2023 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at St, Gabriel Church, 9925 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd., Concord. Burial at Mentor Cemetery at a later date.

Tommy and family, I’m saddened to learn of your dad’s passing, 55 is way too young but I know he will be with you in spirit. You are all loved and cherished. I’m sorry I can’t be there for you all.
It was sad to hear this news. Ive said many prayers for him the last few years hoping he would overcome. He struggled. He was a kind, quite person who always offered to help others. He once carried a lawn mower out of my car to my house. He did it out of kindness, expecting nothing, but I gave him a few dollars for his time. It almost brought him to tears. He just needed to believe he was worthy of that same kindness himself. He will be missed. I’m so sorry for your loss.
To Heather, Madison, and Tommy I’m saddened by your loss. I hope that you find comfort with each other and can rejoice in all the amazing memories that you had with your Dad. You and your family are in my prayers. God bless!
