Stanley “Babe” Gaul, 81 of Eastlake, passed away on July 9th, 2022. He was born in Carrolltown, PA on March 1, 1941, to the late Michael and Florence Gaul. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary Ann Gaul (nee Sewalish), his children Gentine (TJ) Meagher and Noelle (Dan) Griffith; his loving grandchildren Connor, Hunter and Makenna Griffith, and Genevieve “Evie” Meagher; his sister Sandy (Butch) Greenland; sisters-in-law Toni Zalisnock and Janet Gaul, and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard “Lefty” Gaul. Stan was a quiet and well-respected man who was liked by all. The most important part of Stan’s life was his dedication and love for his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Respecting Stanley’s wishes there will be no viewing. A Mass of gratitude will be held Friday July 15th 10:30 am at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St Willowick, OH 44095, to celebrate the many years he was blessed to share with his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Stan’s honor to St. Mary Magdalene Church or Hospice of Western Reserve, 300 East 185th Street, Cleveland OH 44119.

Arrangement have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville.

  1. It was very sad to here of Babe’s death. He was the type of friend that was easy to admire and look up too. He and Maryann were our teenage idles. May he Rest in Peace.

  2. Stanley, was such a wonderful guy. I unfortunately only got to meet the man once, while in town for a few baseball games with Connor. While I was there though, he treated me as if I was family. You will be missed. My deepest condolences go out to the family.

    Steve and I will miss Stan very much. He was the nicest and most laid back guy we ever met, and not just our neighbor, but a wonderful friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. We were blessed to have known him!

    I have very fond memories of both Mr. and
    Mrs. Gaul from my softball days with their daughter, Gentine. Mr. Gaul was always THE
    Sweetest, most gentle loving soul to anyone who crossed his path. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Love, “Gibby.”
