Thomas E. Fink, age 73 of Mentor and formerly of Euclid, passed away July 27th, 2022 at Hospice of the Western Reserve surrounded by his family. He was born December 24th, 1948 in Cleveland to the late Vida and John Fink.

Tom was a retired Lieutenant Commander U.S. Navy Veteran. Member of The American Legion Post 214, The Euclid Vets Association and PLAV Post 31

Tom worked at University Hospitals and at U.S. Navy Hospitals as an operating room nurse.

Tom is the loving husband of 42 years to Denise Rae Fink (nee Post); beloved father of Bryan Thomas Fink and Kathryn Anne (Greg Whalin) Fink; dearest brother of David (Connie) Fink and the late Fr. John Fink; brother in law of Randy Post and the late Alayne Rowe Post of Florida; cousin of many.

The Fink family will receive friends from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 9th, 2022 at St. Gabriel Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Mentor. A Memorial mass will follow at 10:30 AM Tuesday at the church. Burial with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Donations can be made in Tom’s name to St. Gabriel Church or the Food Pantry, where he was a volunteer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville.

    I spent many OR days with Tom at UH, enjoyed backstage visits at St Gabriel’s Lenten fish fries with Tom and Denise and occasionally ran into them both when post retirement they would volunteer a day a week at our VA Hospital.

  2. Tom was always so sweet and nice to me in the operating room no matter how crazy it was. He and Peter were a hoot together. I’m glad he enjoyed his retirement. He will be missed. Peace to his family.
