Valentino Joseph Baucco

12/12/1952 — 01/20/2023

A close-up photo of Valentino Joseph Baucco looking at the camera

Valentino Joseph Baucco, age 70 of Euclid, passed away January 20th, 2023 at Wickliffe Country Place. He was born December 12th, 1952 in Cleveland to Patsy R. Baucco (nee Sprinchorn) and the late Valentino Baucco.

Val was the loving brother of Jerry (Jackie) Baucco, James (Cindy-deceased) Baucco, and Patricia (Richard) Abernethy; beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews; companion of Kelly Whelan.

When Val, often called “Little Val” by family was in ninth grade, he went undefeated in wrestling and broke the schools pole vaulting record. He also loved watching sports, especially the Browns and the Indians.

This set the tone for how he approached life. In his professional career, he was a self-employed, carpenter, cabinet builder, and designer of anything wood. He could see it in his head and then build it. He learned cabinetry building from his uncles Johnny and Eddie in Florida. He was a perfectionist when it came to carpentry.

We will never be forgotten, he left his mark. He built additions for some of his family and kitchens for others, with his best friend Paul, who passed before him. In the families Florida home, he built cabinets and even a one bedroom apartment on top of the carport. He could build anything, do anything he set his mind to!

He was a fiery, loyal individual who once swam across the Monongahela River on a whim before a Pink Floyd concert. He was very proud of that!

He loved the dogs he had, most recently, Spartacus, he named him that because he thought of himself as that, Spartacus, and even superman! Always said, you can’t hurt steel!!

He had many personal and professional, long, lasting relationships. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends!

You are everywhere we look! So, thank you for all that you did, you will always be here!

The Baucco family would like to invite family and friends to a memorial luncheon on Saturday, February 11, from 12:00-4:00PM at Timberlake Village Hall, 11 E. Shore Blvd., Timberlake, OH 44095.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home.
