William “Bill” Linder

7/14/1972 - 7/10/2026

In Loving Memory of Bill Linder

William “Bill” Linder passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 53.

Born on July 14, 1972, Bill was a lifelong Ohioan who called Ashland, Ohio home. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Baldwin Wallace University before building a successful career in construction and sales. While he took great pride in his work, the roles he treasured most were those of father, Papa, son, coach, and friend.

Bill was a devoted father to Briana N. Linder, Brandon E. Linder, and Brady M. Linder, and nothing brought him greater pride than watching his children grow. His love only grew deeper when he became Papa to his cherished grandchildren, Navy and Ridge Werner, who brought endless joy to his life.

For many years, Bill dedicated countless hours to coaching youth football. To the families and players he mentored, he was more than just a coach—he was a role model, teacher, and source of encouragement. His commitment to helping young athletes grow in confidence, discipline, and character left a lasting impact on the community and on generations of players who were fortunate enough to know him.

Outside of coaching, Bill loved spending time on the golf course with his sons and his closest friends. He enjoyed trips to the casino with his boys, where laughter and friendly competition made for unforgettable memories. A devoted Cleveland Browns fan, he remained loyal through every season, always believing the next one would be the year.

Bill shared an especially close bond with his father, Jay Linder, who was not only his dad but his best friend. He carried the memory of his beloved mother, Marilyn “Mert” Linder, with him every day after her passing, and her love continued to guide him throughout his life.

Those who knew Bill will remember his generous heart, unwavering loyalty, infectious sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He made people feel welcome, valued, and supported, and his kindness extended far beyond his own family. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched as a father, grandfather, coach, mentor, and friend.

Bill was the cherished son of Jay and the late Marilyn “Mert” Linder; beloved father of Briana N. Linder, Brandon E. Linder, and Brady M. Linder; proud Papa of Navy and Ridge Werner; beloved brother of Jenny (Jeremy) Carrle; loving uncle of Lance Carrle and Owen Carrle; and former husband of Brandy (Don) Peyatt. He also leaves behind many extended family members, lifelong friends, former players, and members of the community whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m at 2355 Rollingwood Drive, Medina. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and service to others.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Bill’s legacy will live on through his family, the young athletes he inspired, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him. His love, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to others will never be forgotten.

Forever our Dad. Forever our Papa. Forever our Coach.

Arrangements entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Painesville.
