William Lloyd Scholes, age 90 of Mentor, passed away at home December 11th, 2022. He was born October 28th, 1932 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from TRW. He was a custodian at Bible Community Church, where he was a member for 55 years. He was also a custodian at Mentor Christian School for many years. He attended Victory Baptist Church for the past few years.

Bill enjoyed growing dahlias and was an avid fish hobbyist. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Lucille. He lived for the Lord Jesus and his family.

Bill was a loving husband for 69 years to Lucille Scholes (nee Hirko); dearest father of William (Laura) Scholes; Lawrence Scholes, Loretta “Lori” (Tom) Weagraff, Scott (Tiffany) Scholes and Sue (Gerald) Bobb; cherished grandfather of eleven; great grandfather of sixteen; son of the late Nettie Muzar; brother of the late Ellen Vicic.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, December 16th, 2022 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:15 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial at Whitehaven Cemetery.

    I am honored to have been given the grace to meet dear Mr. Scholes and was inspired by his beautiful smile and peace in the face of the end of his time here. Though I know he is in glory with his King, our prayers are with you. May God bless your family.

  5. I remember your dad always taking care of everything at Mentor Christian School & Bible Community Church for the time I went there in the 70 & 80’s. What a great man he was. Always there with a smile on his face. He just loved what he did.

  6. He loved greeting the school kids at the door of the school. He was a lot of help around the church and school. He always had a smile for everyone. He will be missed.
